Ethiopian athlete Seyisa Lilesa and Kenyan athlete Lucy Kabuu won the seventh edition of the Delhi Half Marathon in men and women elite section respectively.
Sports Minister Ajay Maken flagged off the marathon here on Sunday along with Bollywood actors Shahrukh Khan and Bipasha Basu.
Lilesa crossed the finish line with a time of 59:29 minutes, while Kabuu clocked 67:04 minutes to take the title.
Kabuu expressed her joy at winning the marathon.
"Well. I have to thank the mighty God for giving me, for helping me to be a winner and also the race organiser for inviting me in this race. This is the first race and I am happy for giving my best in the best," she told the media here after winning the title.
The event started with the main race of 21.097 kilometres, followed by the wheelchair race of 2.5 kilometres.
Other events included a 4.3 kilometre run for senior citizens and the six-kilometre Great Delhi Run. (ANI)
