The Sullivan Honors has grown in importance and prominence to become one of the highlights of theWashington, DC cultural year.  

  

On Thursday, December 15, 2011, The Leon H. Sullivan Foundation will salute the 2011 Sullivan Honors Recipients in a star-studded, international affair with notable performers from the United States and across the African Continent

The Honorees will accept the recognition of their peers and colleagues as they are celebrated through original performances and heart felt tributes. The event will take place in the beautiful and stately Ballroom at the Marriott-Wardman Park Hotel.


This year our Honors Celebration is scheduled to occur in Washington, DC during the excitement and festivities of the holiday season. The Sullivan Foundation has chosen to embrace the element of surprise and excitement in the program. Therefore, the 2011 Sullivan Honorees will be announced at a special press conference only days before the event.

 The Newly Crowned Miss Africa USA Ghyslaine Tchouaga from Cameroon will be making a special appearance at the 2011 Sullivan Honors with some of her fellow Pageant Delegates. This will be her first major appearance since being crowned.  Queen Ghyslaine Tchouaga is working closely with the Sullivan Foundation to address the emergency situation in theHorn of Africa where she will lead a special campaign to feed the Hungry in Somaliaand help save lives.
