The Kenyans who met in Atlanta, Georgia to fundraise in Support of President Kibaki's 2007 Re-Election  were emphatic that the President will win the elections with a landside because he is a champion of economic development unlike his challengers!

In full support of Mwai Kibaki's as Kenya's fourth President in the coming general elections - Kenyans in Atlanta who included influential clergy, professionals, business community and students defied their tight work schedules on Saturday Dec. 8th to raise thousands of dollars towards the President's re election. The Kenyans who had rallied together to contribute towards the President's re-election course were challenged by guest speakers Allan Ngugi, David Ochwangi and Key speaker Elijah Ngugi to work their phones by calling their loved ones and friends in Kenya to vote unanimously for Mwai Kibaki. The speakers spoke of the development record the President had set versus the empty rhetoric of the opposition.

The Kenyan clergy led Kenyans in praying for the country. They challenged christians and especially the young people to be involved in civic duties by participating in the political process in the countries they reside in. Noting that the books of Psalms and Proverbs were written by Kings who were also political leaders, they implored Kenyans to be participants in the running of their countries and emulate Kings David and Solomon who despite being great followers of God, were also great political leaders.

The organizing committee which had donated barbecue goats to the Kenyan attendees also auctioned 1 acre of land within Nairobi. The land which had been offered by a generous Kenyan residing in Atlanta was auctioned to the highest bidder Mr. Fredrick Gatuku who beat other competitors to take possession. The land plus donations netted thousands of dollars which will be wired to Mwai Kibaki's campaign account in Nairobi, Kenya.

With two weeks to the general election, the collected amounts will be Atlanta Kenyans' best wishes to Mwai Kibaki and other PNU contestants.
